About Compassion Ministries
-
Compassion Ministries is a diverse church family, rooted in God’s Word and led by His Spirit. Representing over fourteen nations, we are united by our love for Jesus and our desire to make His love known. We believe church is more than a place to attend - it’s a spiritual family where people can encounter God, grow in faith, find community, and discover their God-given purpose. There is a place for you here.

Pastor Moses Roopchand is the lead pastor of Compassion Ministries, with a heart for outreach, healing, and life transformation. Born and raised in Trinidad, West Indies, he answered the call to ministry at age 21 after encountering Christ and being filled with the Holy Spirit. After moving to the United States in 1986, Pastor Moses spent 33 years building a professional career while faithfully serving in ministry alongside his wife, Patsy. Together, they have served in evangelism, worship, youth, and leadership, ministering in Queens, New York, and later in Miami with their three children. Today, Pastor Moses serves as an ordained Bishop in the Church of God and leads Compassion Ministries in Homestead, Florida. After stepping into full-time ministry in 2023, he has devoted himself to building a church where people can encounter God, grow in faith, and
discover their purpose. His passion is simple: to see people encounter God, grow in faith, and walk in purpose.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart… and He will direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5–6

Our mission is to cross every cultural, social, economic, and denominational boundary creating a place where everyone can encounter Jesus and experience His love with compassion.
-
Our vision is to see barriers replaced with bridges, divisions healed by Christ and a diverse Church community walking together in Unity so God’s love are made visible through our lives.

1. Grace First
You belong before you believe.
We want people to encounter Jesus before we expect them to have everything figured out. We welcome people where they are, while lovingly pointing them toward who God is calling them to become.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
2. Healing is a Process
God finishes what He starts.
“He who began a good work in you will complete it.” (Philippians 1:6)
3. Forgiveness is a mandate
Forgiven people forgive people.
“As the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.” (Colossians 3:13)
4. Generosity is worship
We give because He gave.
“Freely you have received; freely give.” (Matthew 10:8)
5. Empowerment is activation
Called, Equipped, Sent out
“To equip the saints for the work of ministry.” (Ephesians 4:12)
6. Honor God, Honor His people
“Honor one another above yourselves.” (Romans 12:10)
7. Stewardship is faithfulness
Managing God’s faithfulness well
“It is required of stewards that they be found faithful.” (1 Corinthians 4:2)
8. Holiness is our pursuit:
Daily dying, daily becoming
“Be holy, for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:16)
“I have been crucified with Christ…” (Galatians 2:20)
9. Gratitude is our response
Thanks be to God, in everything.
“Give thanks in all circumstances.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
10. Communication is our bridge
We listen well and speak with truth,
“Speaking the truth in love, we may grow up in all things into Him who is the head - Christ.” (Ephesians 4:15)
11. Humility is our strength:
True strength is in service, not status
“The reward for humility and fear of the Lord is riches, honor, and life.” (Proverbs 22:4)
12. Rest is our refuge
There is renewal in God’s presence and promises
The Lord is my Shepard passage (Psalms 23)
13. Fear of the Lord is our wisdom
