About Compassion Ministries

who we are

Welcome to Compassion Ministries, a warm and welcoming community in Homestead rooted in the teachings and spirit of Pentecostal faith. We are a family of believers passionate about living out God’s love, empowering one another, and spreading the message of salvation through Jesus Christ.

  • Compassion Ministries is a Pentecostal charismatic interdenominational church. We are a part of the Church of God family with our headquarters based in Cleveland Tennessee.

Our church racial and ethnic makeup is a collage of fourteen nationals working in harmony for the common good of advancing the Kingdom of God. An intrinsic part of our culture is buying into and investing in love and reconciliation.

Just as every individual need a family and home that engenders and cater to their physical, emotional and social needs, we believe every one need a church home that intentionally cultivates an environment which is conducive to maximizing Spiritual growth.

It is our prayer, as you join us in our worship celebration, you will experience a sovereign move of God that refreshes your soul.

  • Pastor Moses Roopchand was born and raised in Trinidad West Indies. He attended the Dow New Testament Church of God. At the age of 21 Moses got saved, baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost where he later got intrinsically involved in Christian Education, Youth and Music Ministry.

He migrated to the United States in 1986 and studied in New York City where he earned his Degree in Electronics Circuits and Systems. Moses worked for Canon Business Solutions, Xeikon America and Dex Imaging as a service Engineer within a 24 years span. In July of 1990, Moses got married to Patsy Roopchand who was also born and raised in Trinidad. She was involved in the children’s ministry, evangelism and also did praise and worship.

Both Moses and Patsy attended and served in ministry at Deeper Life Christian Fellowship Queens N.Y. from 1993-2003, where he served as part of the pastoral team and as a Christian Educator, whilst Patsy was part of the worship team.

Moses felt their season was up in N.Y. and migrated to Miami in 2004, with their three beautiful children, James, Priscilla and Paige who attended the West Kendall Church of God, where Moses was credentialed.

Later in 2006, Moses was called to pastor at the Plantation Key Church in Tavernier and willingly took the challenge and started the church with his wife and three kids. They worked together and built the church up to where it became sustainable. After serving in the Keys for 2 years faithfully, West Kendall Church of God became available and today it is called the Kendall Oasis Church of God where Moses Roopchand as an Ordained Bishop is presently serving as the Senior Pastor for the past 13 years.

Pastor Moses Roopchand believes-If we acknowledge God in all our ways He certainly will direct our path. Proverbs 3:6

  • This is the most (integral) emphasized Ministry – Lots of care and planning goes into this area, because the world is fighting for the heart and soul of the kids. This is why we believe in building a foundation and reinforcing the home, strengthening the hands of the parents. Our objective is for our kids to become productive citizens who would love God and respect people
