Gen C (Nursery, Kids, Pre-Teens, Teens)
Long before children know what they will become, we want them to know whose they are: They belong to Christ.
That is why we chose the name Gen-C. The "C" represents the kind of generation we are praying God will raise up:
CHRIST: Knowing Jesus and building their lives on Him.
COMPASSION: Seeing people the way Jesus does and responding with love.
COMMUNITY: Knowing they belong, while learning to serve and grow together.
CALLING: Discovering that God has a purpose for their lives and can use them right now
-
Covered and Nurtured.
The Nest represents safety, belonging, and new beginnings. Just as a nest provides a place for a young bird to be protected and nurtured as it grows, our nursery is a place where our babies can begin experiencing the love of God through the loving care of others.Ministry: A warm welcome, a gentle voice, a smile, a song, a prayer, speaking life over them and a safe pair of arms.
Scripture:
Psalms 91:4 “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge.”
Deuteronomy 32:11 “Like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them aloft.” -
Rooted and Growing.
The Garden represents growth, discovery, and becoming. Just as a garden must be planted, watered, nurtured, and cared for, our children are being cultivated in their faith as they learn God’s Word, discover who He created them to be, and grow in their relationship with Jesus. Every lesson, conversation, prayer, friendship, and moment of worship is an opportunity to plant something in their hearts that will continue to grow.
Ministry: Teaching God’s Word in a way they can understand, worship/prayer, encouraging curiosity and questions, building friendships, cultivating their gifts, helping them discover their identity in Christ, and creating an environment where their faith can take root and flourish.
Scripture:
Psalm 1:3 “They will be like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.”
John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit. -
Encountering and Equipped.
The Upperroom represents encounter, community, and preparation. In Scripture, the Upper Room was a place where Jesus’ followers gathered together, prayed, worshiped, received instruction, and were prepared for what God was about to do. In the same way, The Upperroom is a place for our pre-teens to move from simply learning about God to developing a faith that is becoming their own. It’s a place where they no longer rely on Mom, Dad, Grandparents faith, but a season of self discovery. It is a space where they can ask honest questions, have meaningful conversations, encounter God’s presence, build authentic community, and begin discovering the purpose and calling God has placed on their lives.
Ministry: Creating space for honest conversations, worship/prayer, discipleship, denying their flesh, friendship, leadership, serving, discovering their God-given gifts, and learning to live boldly for Christ.
Scripture:
Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses…”
1 Timothy 4:12 “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers…” -
Grounded and Sent.
The Vault represents identity, discipleship, purpose, and preparation. Just as a vault protects something valuable, The Vault is a place where our teens are reminded of their value in Christ and equipped to carry what God has placed within them. As they grow, they are learning to make their faith their own - building a deeper relationship with Jesus, discovering their gifts, navigating real-life challenges, and learning to live boldly for Christ.
Ministry: Creating space for honest conversations, biblical teaching, worship and prayer, discipleship, authentic friendships, leadership, serving, spiritual growth, discovering God-given gifts, and learning to live out their faith at home, at school, and in their communities.
Scripture:
2 Timothy 1:14 “Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you…”
